Ames, Iowa Small Business IT Assessment
A small business can accumulate computers, cloud accounts, vendors, Wi-Fi, backups, shared files, security settings, and one-off fixes without ever getting a clear picture of the whole environment. Potent Technology can review the current setup, identify practical gaps, and organize the findings into a written action plan you can keep and use whether or not Potent performs any follow-up work.

Before Work Begins
Starting a request is free. If an unknown computer or device problem needs diagnosis, Potent confirms the $39.99 diagnostic first and credits it toward a completed approved repair.
No surprise parts, subscriptions, purchases, or expanded work above what you approved. If the scope changes, Potent stops and confirms the next step first.
If the same covered issue returns because of Potent's labor or workmanship within 30 days, Potent will re-evaluate it and correct covered labor when appropriate.
The goal is a customer-owned written summary of the environment reviewed, important dependencies, notable risks or gaps, and a prioritized list of recommended next steps. The document is meant to remain useful even if the business chooses another provider for follow-up work.
No. The assessment can stand on its own. Potent can quote follow-up troubleshooting, projects, upgrades, or support separately if requested, but the assessment is not a requirement to enter an ongoing managed-services agreement.
Yes. Findings should be organized by practical priority so the business can distinguish urgent access, backup, security, or reliability concerns from longer-term improvements and optional upgrades.
No. Potent can review practical security basics such as MFA, account ownership, update practices, backups, and obvious technology risks within the agreed scope. Penetration testing, formal compliance certification, regulatory attestation, and specialized security assessments require separately qualified services.
No. Do not send passwords, MFA codes, recovery codes, or other authentication secrets in the initial request. When authenticated access is genuinely needed for an approved review, Potent can explain a safer way for an authorized user to provide or perform that access at the appropriate time.
Yes. Understanding which provider controls an important service, where support information is kept, and what depends on that provider can be part of the review. Potent can help organize findings and isolate local technology issues, while each vendor remains responsible for systems it controls.
Yes. The written findings are intended for the customer to keep. A clearer inventory of needs, priorities, and dependencies can make future purchasing and provider conversations more informed and easier to compare.
