The Potent Standard

Technology support should be easier to buy.

The Potent Standard is a set of customer promises for technology help in Ames and Central Iowa. The idea is simple: you should know what happens next, what you approved, what you are paying for, and what was actually done.

Customer promises

Standards you can actually hold Potent to

01

Flat Fee First

When the work can be reasonably scoped, Potent gives you a flat price before the repair or project begins. Unknown troubleshooting may start with an approved diagnostic or defined troubleshooting scope, but the goal is to stop the running meter as soon as the problem is understood.

02

The Quote Is the Price

Normal approved payment processing is Potent's cost of doing business. If Potent quotes $150 for the agreed scope, you pay $150. Parts, special travel, subscriptions, or third-party costs are separate only when they are disclosed and approved before they are added.

03

Approval Before Spending

No paid part, license, subscription, equipment purchase, or expanded scope is added above what you authorized without your approval first.

04

Repair or Replace Honestly

A repair is not automatically the right answer. If replacing the device or changing direction makes more financial sense, Potent will say so before you keep putting money into the wrong solution.

05

Case Tracking, Not Guesswork

Real Potent service work is documented through a case. Your case portal shows the current status, what that status means, the latest customer-visible update, communication history, and the final resolution instead of making you reconstruct the job from scattered texts or memory.

06

No Contract Required

Homes and small businesses can call Potent for one problem, one project, one location, or one assessment without being pushed into a recurring managed-services agreement.

07

The Right Vendor Wins

If the problem belongs to an ISP, manufacturer, software provider, POS vendor, electrician, cabling specialist, or another trade, Potent will say so rather than keep billing time trying to force the problem into the wrong lane.

08

Privacy by Default

Potent avoids collecting passwords, PINs, and other sensitive access when the work can be completed without them. When practical, you enter your own credentials while Potent handles the technical work around them.

09

30-Day Covered Labor Guarantee

If the same covered issue returns because of Potent's labor or workmanship within 30 days, Potent will re-evaluate it and, when appropriate, correct that covered labor without another labor charge. Parts remain subject to supplier or manufacturer warranty terms.

10

Clear Closeout

When Potent closes a real service case, the resolution should say what was found, what was done, what was tested, and whether anything remains. You should not be left with a vague 'fixed' or 'done' and no useful record of the work.

Pacesetter in Technology

A better service experience is part of the repair.

Potent is not trying to win by being the cheapest technician in Ames. The goal is to make technology support clearer, more accountable, and easier to trust.
